Instructions on how to install an Austral Foldaway 45-51 rotary clothes lines.

1. Site.

A.

Select a suitable site with 1000mm clearance from each end of each arm to any obstructions such as walls, fences etc.

B.

Dig a hole about 600mm deep and 250mm diameter, open the carton and remove the ground socket, place gravel or stone in the hole until the socket is level with the ground surface, the gravel is for proper drainage.

2. Height setting

A.

If the hoist is installed on sloping ground then provision should be made to use it from the high side of the ground, the measurements you make should allow for this position.

B.

Remove the ground socket from the hole, you will see 5 pin holes on the side of the socket, these are for correct height setting. Simply measure the height of the user , and select the suitable hole in the ground socket. Remove the pin from the accessory bag and punch it through the selected hole. See guide below for hole selection. Over 1870 mm use the top hole. 1820-1870 mm use the forth hole from bottom. 1770-1820 mm use the third hole from bottom. 1720-1770 mm use the second hole hole from bottom. Under 1670 mm use the bottom hole.

C.

Place the main column inside the ground socket. Fit the prewired head section into the top of the main column and allow the cross section to slide down over the main column. Rotate the head section and it will lock into position. Undo the arm retainer and cut the wrapping on the arms, Figure 1. Gently open the arms checking to see if any lines are caught or twisted. Figure 2.

3. Fit handle grip

Fit the grip handle and handle shaft to the handle, push the split end of the shaft through the hole at the bottom of the handle, when the shaft is through it will expand and lock in its place.

B.

Clip the handle cover to the back of the handle, simply press it in).

4. Concreting the ground socket

A.

Mix concrete in the following proportions, 3 gravel, i sand, 1 cement. Concrete should be damp enough to hold together when squeezed in the hand.

B.

Stand the ground socket in the center of its hole with pin in place. open the clothesline and check the users height again, ensure the socket is level with the ground surface, hold the clothesline up and fit the retaining cord. Make sure the handle is facing the right way.

C.

Hold the clothesline upright then fill a further 50 mm with gravel only. add the concrete mix to about halfway. Check that the clothesline is pependicular, keep the line upright then fill the hole to within 20mm of the top, settle the concrete again and check for purpendicular. Cover the remaining part of the hole with soil or grass.
